Buzz Lightyear - Toy Story

buy-talking-buzz-lightyearToy Story is a 1995 American computer animated film. This is the first Disney/Pixar film to be made, as well as the first feature film to be made entirely with computer generated imagery (CGI). Toy Story features a group of toys who pretend to be inanimate and lifeless whenever human beings are present. This story focuses on Woody, a pull string cowboy doll and Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut action figure.
Buzz Lightyear is a fictional character in the Toy Story franchise. As can be depicted from his costume, he is a space ranger and is the main deuteragonist (the second most important character, after the protagonist and before the tritagonist). Buzz Lightyear is famous for his cataphrase “To infinity and beyond!” The voice that brings this character to life in the Toy Story film trilogy is Tim Allen.

Buzz Lightyear was first unveiled on Toy Story as a birthday present for Andy. However at this time, Buzz does not realize yet that is just a toy, and insists on believing to himself that is the real Buzz Lightyear. The reason for this is made clear on the second film: He was placed on “hypersleep” before embarking on his mission – before packed in the display carton, that is. Unfortunately, all Buzz Lightyear toys are similarly unaware of this fact. Additionally, he supposes to possess a fully functional equipment that is just made out of sticker and LED. As a consequence, this conviction causes friction between Buzz and Woody (Andy’s previous favorite toy). The other toys in Andy’s room are fascinated with Buzz’s doo-dads and gung-ho attitude, making Woody viciously jealous.

Sid in Toy Story
Andy’s next door neighbor Sid Phillips has been kicked out of summer camp earlier and Woody tries to explain to Buzz that Sid is a child who tortures and destroys toys just because he finds it fun and endearing.

Andy prepares to go to a family outing at the space themed Pizza Planet restaurant with Buzz. Woody attempts to misplace Buzz by knocking him out to fall behind Andy’s desk. However, Buzz is thrown off the window and is thought to be lost. The other toys think that Woody is trying to get rid of him. Using both stealth and agility, he manages to survive all the challenges with Woody until he finally accepts the fact that he is just a toy after watching a TV commercial of Buzz Lightyear Action Figure. Buzz’s attempt to escape the house of toy-destroying child Sid’s house fails, earning him, instead, a broken left arm.

Hannah, Sid’s sister, customizes his outfit and dresses him up as a woman. She calls her “Ms. Nesbit” and invites him to her tea party. When Woody finds him, he has fallen into a nervous breakdown leading to depression after finding out the truth. However, with positive encouragement from Woody, Buzz has gradually come into terms with truth, eventually leading to his acceptance of the truth. To escape the wrath of Sid, He teams up with Woody, and together, they are able to reunite into the safe and warm comforts of Andy’s room, along with the other beloved toys.
